Rae Choi is a Chinese-Australian filmmaker and lawyer, based in Magandjin/Meanjin (Brisbane, Australia). She produced short film MY HOME IS A DOG THAT LIVES INSIDE ME (2017) and worked with the same team on independently produced feature film, PARIS FUNERAL, 1972 (2021). Both projects were shot on 16mm with non-actors and filmed abroad (Japan, France and Italy).

In 2021, Rae wrote and directed her first short WHEN THE SKY WAS BLUE, funded by Screen Queensland and now available to stream on SBS on Demand. The film was nominated for an Australian Writers’ Guild Award and was a finalist at the Screen Producers Australia Awards after screening at various international festivals, and broadcast across the UK. She went on to co-write and produce VIV’S SILLY MANGO (2022) for ABC ME and Screen Australia’s joint initiative The Kaleidoscope Project.

In 2022, Rae was selected for AFTRS’ QLD Talent Camp and accepted into PlatformBUSAN at the Asian Contents & Film Market. Following a Producer’s attachment with Singaporean-based Momo Film Co, Rae completed an internship with the Australian Children’s Television Foundation.

Rae is a 2023 recipient of Screen Australia's Enterprise program and is currently the development producer at Good Apples Pictures.
